RS130 & RD160 - best way to pair/connect

What is the recommended way to connect the RS130 to the new DAC RD160? Looks like there are many options, but since they are both ROSE, I would assume there is a sweat spot.

Also how does one connect the pair to the AVR, I would assume this is from the DAC. What is the recommended way to an AVR such as an Anthem AVM-90?

Hello,
For me, the best way to connect the 130/160 is with the fiber optic kit received with the rsa720.

Hi WWolfram,
SFP usb 3.0 fibre connection between the 130 & 160 is easily the best in my opinion. Quality SFP modules and fibre cables did make a difference for me.

Yep, I agree. Check the forums. A number of discussions on this already.

I use the I2S from transport to DAC. AES/EBU works well too.

To connect to AVR you would need to decide if want to use the Rose DAC or AVR to perform conversion. If you’re listening to two channel music use the Rose DAC analog balanced out to AVR. If surround is important then you have to use HDMI.

I believe you can do both. Go analog out to AVR on analog input - I would use balanced. And then HDMI for surround. Toggle between inputs as needed.
