Rs130, Roon, and DSD

Has anyone using Roon with the 130 tried playing any DSD128 or DSD256 files? I’m not a Roon user, but my friend who just got his set up with the 130 tells me both of those high rate DSD seems to be getting down sampled to DSD64.

Thanks Jozef! I’ll tell my friend and point him to this thread. He must have something set up incorrectly in Roon - he can play the same high rate DSDs just fine from the Rose app via smb share.

I had an issue where I could not enable DSD in Roon but I figured it out by disabling software volume control on the input/output settings on the RS130. However, I can only upsample to DSD256 (DoP) If I enable DSD512 to upsample I get no sound.

Hi everyone, it was me having this dsd thing going on. Dsd256 is working on usb with my RS130 as well.

I would also like to have it work with I2S as well, as this sounds way better in my setup.
This dsd256 works using the Rose app, but it unfortunately doesn’t work using Roon.

I believe to have (un)checked every option available both on the Rose and in Roon, but to no avail. I’ll be most greatful of anyone of you can help me out.

Update: just tried to play a dsd246 through the Rose app. It didn’t play like before. Now the dac display was showing a hickup in grasping the data rate dsd256-705.6/01-705.6/24, quickly alternating.
Probably that’s the culprit.

@ROSEHAN

I just received my RS130 and I am unable to play DSD files from roon they are getting converted to PCM. I don’t see any DSD options showing up in Roon device setup. However, I can play DSD256 from Rose Connect directly via my DAC Holo May which is connected via I2S. Native DSD is enabled in Rose and volume control is off. SW has been updated to latest release.

When I check Roon this is what I see.

Please help.

Adding to your request: we seem to have the same issue. So, it would be very helpful if Rose provides a solution!

@Jobbie I discovered that if I enable USB in my ROSE 130 (plug Holo DAC into Rose 130 USB Audio and switch Holo to USB input) then the DSD option is “discovered” in roon.

However, as soon as I switch my DAC to I2S, USB is disabled and it flips back to no DSD support – which clearly is not what you would expect. @ROSEHAN please help.
