Dear ROSEHAN, Just updated the System Version for my RS130 to “5.9 (Official)”. The update went smoothly but after the system update finished and my RS130 re-booted the “Play All” and “Shuffle” functions will not work when attempting to play an album from the onboard SSD. It will plan an individual song, just won’t launch anything when trying Play All or Shuffle. I re-booted my RS130 a second time and attempted the Play All from the front panel touch screen and from the iPad app. Neither was successful. Please advise any further troubleshooting, my RS130 is running Audio Firmware Version Information XMOS 3151. Thanks!
Here are a few things to check.
-
Does the “Play All” and “Shuffle” function not work on other streaming apps like Qobuz or Tidal, other than SSD music sources on your RS130?
-
Is your RoseConnect app also updated to the latest version?
Even after updating to the latest version, the “Play All” and “Shuffle” function still does not work?
Hello,
Could you please try running the Rose APP for PC again? An update related to this issue has been released, so it should update automatically.
Best Regards,
Hi ROSELOA & ROSEHAN,
First of all - Thank you very much for your quick responses / suggestions. I just rebooted my RS130 and iPad (Rose Connect Premium App). A new Firmware update appeared (XMOS 3152) for the RS130. After installing the new Firmware my problem was solved! I have been completely loving my RS130 since July 2024. I really appreciate the great customer support.
Hi ROSELOA & ROSEHAN,
Looks like I responded too quickly. The first few albums the “Play All” function worked, but then others didn’t. My issue is better, but only for some albums. I’ve tested ~ 20 albums and about 50% launch and play all, the other half won’t start. I’ve notice the file information for the non-staring files is strange.
Please see screen shot attached. If I play just the single track it always plays normally and shows the correct file information. I could not find any common characteristics for the albums that Play All worked vs those that didn’t. It seems random. Please advise - Thanks
We have confirmed that this symptom occurs intermittently on our side.
Does this phenomenon occur when you play all as follows?
iOS RoseConnect app–>Music–>Folder–>SSD–>Play All
There is no problem with playing all through the album, not through the folder.
This phenomenon occurs only when playing through the folder.
We will continue to check the issue related to full playback.
Hi ROSEHAN,
Thank you for your attention and feedback - much appreciated.
Yes - the phenomenon occurs intermittently using the “Music - Folder - SSD - Play All” path. It happens via iOS RoseConnect app AND when using the same access path on the RS130 touch screen.
I also found & confirm that there is no problem when using the “Music - Album - Play” path.
@ ROSEHAN,
Throughput issues with various copy modes to the internal SSD have been observed.
Aside from poor copy speeds, other performance issues with the internal SSD seem to be appearing here with the use of its database.
Why all these problems with using the Rose internal SSD?
@ ROSEHAN,
How to remotely control the screen brightness of RS130 and shutdown with the remote control?
When we did “Music - Folder - SSD - Play All”, we also found that the entire playback did not work intermittently. We will fix the issue and release an update as soon as possible.
Currently, when you scan the music source of SSD on Rose device, you may not get the scan speed that you are satisfied with. However, we are continuously working to increase scanning speeds.
And you cannot adjust the screen brightness of RS130 with the remote control.
You can adjust the screen brightness of RS130 with RoseConnect app.
Please use RoseConnect app to adjust the screen brightness.
RoseConnect -->Settings–>Display–>Screen brightness
Are all these tags for a FLAC track read by the Hifi Rose RS130 on an external SSD drive ?
The most important ones for me are:
- the musical genre recorded in the tag
- the number and the track name
- the album name
- the composer’s name
- the artist’s name
- the album photo
Thank you for your answers.
Yes, the RS130 can read standard FLAC metadata tags from files stored on an external SSD drive. The tags you mentioned are among the most important and are fully supported by our system. Specifically:
- Musical genre – Yes, the genre tag is recognized and displayed.
- Track number and track name – Yes, both are read and shown correctly.
- Album name – Yes, this is displayed in the album view and playback screens.
- Composer’s name – Yes, the composer tag is supported.
- Artist’s name – Yes, both main artist and album artist tags are recognized.
- Album photo (cover art) – Yes, embedded album art within the FLAC file is displayed during playback and in the library view.
@ROSEHAN,
- Does connecting a flash drive/SSD drive to the RS130’s external port require the RS130 to analyze/index before it can be used for playback?
- Does the RS130 reindex tracks on an external USB drive containing FLAC files with their own tags?
- Does copying FLAC files with these tags to an internal SSD drive reindex them?
- Are the original tags of the FLAC files on the external flash drive/SSD drive preserved after copying to the internal drive and reindexing by the RS130?
Thank you for your answers.
