RS130 the audio cannot be played please check the master clock settings

A new RS130 owner is here; I have Apple Music and Tidal set up on the RS130, and when I try to play a song, I get the following error message, audio cannot be played, please check the master clock settings.

I have the RS130 connected to a McIntosh MA9000 (with updated DAC2) via Digital Coax.

I have seen similar questions but have not been able to locate suggested remedies other than suggesting that I factory reset the unit.

Thanks for any assistance.

There is a setting that if you do not have external one, you select internal clock. if its set to internal, flip it to external save and then back to internal and save. see if that nudges the unit. I had similar experience with a usb setting

Thank you Brian. I tried your suggested step and still get the same error message (see pix). I also tried the digital coax, did your step, same result.

I confirm the SB130 is on the latest firmware.

What can I try next?

In the pic with coax on it looks like I2S is on at same time. Probably not the issue. Are there any settings inside the coax gear icon that look wrong? It’s a weird error. Does it stream any other way?

Sorry for the stupid question: Do you’ve choosen the correct physical connection (coax out and not word clock in) on your RS130?

I have a similar setup with a RD130 and a McIntosh MA8900 with DA2 dac. I don’t usually use the onboard dac but a Chord Qutest instead, but out of curiosity I thought that I would give it a try.
Connect a USB A-B cable to the RD130 output and then into the DA2 making sure that you use the USB Audio input on the DA2 and not the Service Port which is located next to it.
Check the settings page on the RD130 and select USB ( you will probably get a message asking to use the Mac DAC, press confirm), then select the USB input on the McIntosh.
Note that when I first tried this with Tidal on the RD130 there was no sound at all. Power off both units, wait 10 sec’s and then power on the Mac and then the Rose.
Everything then worked perfectly, but I must admit that I prefer the sound of the Chord DAC over the DA2.
Hope that this helps.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I was able to get my system to work…the power-down was an important step.
