Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with my RS130 connected via USB to a Soulnote D-2 Ver.2 DAC.
Setup:
HiFi Rose RS130 (latest firmware)
Soulnote D-2 Ver.2 DAC
Connection: RS130 USB Audio port → USB cable → Soulnote D-2 Ver.2 USB input
Using the correct dedicated USB Audio port on the RS130 rear panel
Issue:
The RS130 recognizes the Soulnote D-2 Ver.2 correctly as a USB DAC. However, when I navigate to:
Settings → In/Out Setting → Output → USB DAC Output
the DSD Mode submenu does not appear at all.
What I have already tried:
Confirmed I am using the correct USB Audio port on the RS130
Tried different USB cables (with one cable the DAC is not even recognized, with the current cable it is recognized but DSD Mode is still missing)
Firmware is up to date
Additional notes:
The Soulnote D-2 Ver.2 supports PCM up to 768kHz/32bit and DSD up to 22.6MHz (DSD512) natively via USB. It uses a proprietary XMOS-based USB implementation requiring drivers on Windows, while on macOS it works natively.
I suspect the RS130 may not be fully detecting the DSD capabilities of the D-2 Ver.2 due to the non-standard USB driver implementation, and therefore hides the DSD Mode submenu entirely.
Has anyone experienced this issue with Soulnote DACs or similar proprietary USB implementations? Is there a workaround or a firmware fix planned?
Thank you.
