RSA780 - Ripping CDs from the Rose disc drive to my RS150b, the disc is ejecting before the entire CD is ripped (there are 11 tracks on the album and it spit out the CD in the middle of track 7.) It has done this with more than one disc, which leads me to believe that it’s a Rose issue. I can eventually get it to rip the entire album, but it’s making quite a mess of my labeling/layout which I cannot edit. Any experience with this problem?
Please check a few things for us so we can better understand the issue:
-
When you try to rip CDs using the RS150B and RSA780, does the disc get ejected during ripping with every CD, or does this happen only with specific CDs?
-
When connecting the RSA780 to the RS150B via USB, if you have another USB cable available, could you try using a different cable and see if the same issue occurs?
-
Please clean the CD surface and try ripping again.
-
Disconnect the RSA780 and reconnect it to a different USB port on the RS150B.
-
If you perform a factory reset on your RS150B, does the same issue still occur afterward?
RS150b–>Settings–>System settings–>Factory reset
- It has happened on multiple CDs. In fact, lately, I haven’t been able to do an entire disc without issues.
- I will try this and report back.
- I already did this multiple times.
- I will try this as well.
- Have not done a factory reset yet… trying to avoid doing that, but may not have a choice.
I listened to one of the albums last night and even on tracks where it seems there was no issues, I get random drop out (or sounds like a needle dropping off a vinyl record) on a few tracks.
Not sure if you are a Mac person, but I recommend ripping and labeling your CDs and organizing your library in Apple Music (formerly iTunes). After that you can transfer them to the Rose SSD or hook up a NAS or external SSD with your library. I would sooner give up digital music than rip CDs using the Rose system.
Ripping on the Rose should work because they advertise it, but indeed, why would any sane person use the most painful and inconvenient approach instead of just using dbPowerAmp (or EAC, or even Apple Music or what not) which is vastly superior in every respect?!
It’s this way because Microsoft keeps popping up with Network Credential Authentication needed which used to work fine but now I can’t get past it… so this is the workaround.
