RS150b optical output malfunction

Is it possible to somehow fix the Hifi Rose RS150b malfunction? I don’t use the internal DAC and I use an external DAC with an optical connection. For some time now I have noticed that Rose has started to output a bad signal above 96khz and there is no music. If I cut the signal to 96khz then it works. I tried to connect my dac to a friend’s and with the same cable and everything works fine. I think the problem is in the Rose software.

SPDIF optical is only specified until 24/96.
Some vendors have it extended until 24/192, but this isn’t the standard and so it’s not Hifi Rose’s fault.
If you need something like 24/192 or DSD, then use USB (always the favorite solution, if possible) or I2S or AES/EBU or the coax out.

Hi Burki,

But on google says different😁.

You really should not trust “AI” summaries of anything.

I agree with Boris. Read the manual. That said, I have not found Rose’s manual to be 100% accurate.

I understand that you shouldn’t blindly trust DI. But the manual simply doesn’t describe it clearly. I use a Chord Hugo TT external dac and it works great with other streamers via optical connection. I don’t like USB sound, and I haven’t tried coax yet🤣.

If you had ears, you would hear. But if you were born a monkey, you will die a monkey🤣

My Mac preamp is saying that my optical out from the 130 is passing 24/192. Good old Grateful Dead. This may be my last day with the old 130 so I will try to enjoy it.

I’m sure you have no use for math, physics, or even reading comprehension. But that’s a “you” problem. Happens often with people having an IQ of a Chord owner. (Hint: it’s in double digits at best)
