RS150B Output Voltage?

When running the RS150B into the RA180, what is the ideal output voltage to select. I am running the amp in BTL mode if that makes any difference. Is there an ideal setting? Thanks very much!

Hello,

I would recommend 2000mV(1000mV) in RS150B.
RA180 is developed based on an input of 2000mV. Still, I’m sure you won’t have clipping noise even if you set higher than 2000mV.

Hi HifiHandyman,
I used 2000mV as ROSELOA suggested in the first few months.
Then I raise it to 3000mV, which gives me more power in BTL mode. No clipping as ROSELOA pointed out.
It would be perfect if there’s a 2500mV available. Unfortunately no.
Try the two settings to decide which one you like more.

I am sorry may I know what setting you are referring to ? RA180 can be set with anything?

No need to set on the RA180. Just simply choose 3000mV Preout level.
I use XLR from RS150B to RA180. Speaker connection is BTL.

Please, can you answer what voltage should I use with the Marantz PM-10 amplifier?

Shouldn’t that be a question to Marantz?

If switching occurs on this device, what does Marantz have to do with it??
Maybe you saw in the description of the Marantz PM-10 ,what voltage should be applied to the XLR input?

PM-10 specs say that the balanced input expects pretty standard 4 Volts. I would start with that and play with raising it above 4V to see if it improves anything. But Marantz would be the best source to know at least at what point it might start blowing smoke.

with an integrated Accuphase I use the 4000mv output, it works perfectly.
