RS150b vs RS150 differences

Is there any difference between RS150B and RS150 or they are same models?
I need the one which I can use with any voltages, since I plan to travel from 230V country to 110v.
I think the powersupply supports that?

Then what is the difference between B and non-B version?

Hello there,
B version indicates an ESS SABRE DAC vs an AKM DAC (as AKM plant get burnt during COVID pandemy there is a big shortage of AKM chips).
Remaining parts of the device are AFAIK identical.

Hi Kryss,

Thank you for your prompt response and help here. We all are missing AKM chips, I still feel bad till date for that factory. I was to connect Rose Streamer to my fav Integra DRC Processor.

Thanks again, if there is a link to read about how many DAC chips are inside RS150 then it would be cool to know as well. Waiting for them to show up again so I can order :slight_smile:

Hello,

There’s one DAC chip for each RS150 and RS150B.

RS150 → Asahi Kasei - AK4499EQ
RS150B → ESS SABRE ES9038PRO

Roseloa, i am really curious if the dac boards are swapable ?

I would really love to have my 150 converted to a 150B as I like the sound of ESS better than AKM … it would be a really cool trick to do it :slight_smile:
