RS151 freezes during music videos

Hello everyone,

I’m having the following problem with my RS151:

After about 10 music videos (Rosetube), sometimes even after just 3 videos, my device freezes and I have to restart it. It can’t be the network. (Fiber optic 600) Roon, Tidal, and other streaming services work perfectly. The latest firmware is installed.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

Does anyone have experience with the Access version for the RS151?

My internet is a half bit weaker and nothing happens on Rose Tube or YouTube, and I can listen for example for 60-90 minutes without a break (yesterday I listened for over 60 minutes), my two friends who we bought together don’t have this problem either, except for one who sometimes freezes, but he has a weak internet connection, but he never has to reset it or anything like that.
Do you have the latest streamer software?

I have RS-250 and had this problem with frozen videos from the beginning. The sound continues to play, but the video is frosen after few videos being played, or sometimes from the first video if it is a bigger file. Even older lower resolution (smaller files) freeze randomly . I tried both with and without VLC enabled. RoseHIFI did nothing to solve the problem, and now it looks like they don’t even upgrade the RS250 firmwares anymore. This is the reason I did not buy another RoseHIFI device. I love the RS250 sound, but the videos freezing is just a disgrace , given their players price.

Please check the following:

  1. Does the screen freeze with every video you play on the RS250?

  2. Does the freezing also occur when playing RoseTube videos or Tidal video content, not just videos stored on your external hard drive?

  3. Or does this issue occur only when using the Video app to play videos stored on your external hard drive?

Hi ,

  1. Sometimes it plays ok some of the older, smaller sized music video, however, it freezes after few played files. The sound continues to play correctly without stutter. When the new file begins, it tries to play video again , then freezes again. Sound continues to play well.
  2. Video does not freeze when playing Rose Tube videos.
  3. It appears that videos freeze when using the Video app , playing files from the internal attached SSD and also from my Home network drives.
