Rs151 vs rs150b - cold sound

Dear friends, I hope you are all doing very well.

I would like to know if the rumors circulating on review sites and from supposed users who have tested the HiFi Rose RS151 are actually true.

In theory, at least on paper, this model represents an improvement over its predecessors, and its DAC is next-generation. However, I’ve read some reviews stating that while the sound is precise and detailed, it lacks the warmth and character found in models like the RS250A or RS150B.

Has anyone here had the chance to try the RS151?

I appreciate your comments in advance. Many thanks!

I had the opportunity to test the Rose RS 151 and it is definitely a good sound, i.e. detailed, drawing a lot out of the song, the vocals are not exaggerated in detail and obtrusiveness, although it is not a super warm sound, so if someone has a system that already plays quite high, the Rose will probably not approach, it is better to buy e.g. some Lumin, however, if someone has a neutral system, then you can definitely go into the Rose RS 151. And you can still warm it up a bit with cables.

I changed from 150b to 151. I have a very nice tube preamp running through a very clean solid state amp. I didn’t lose any warmth at all on the switch. The sound is non fatiguing and accurate. The display screen is much improved. The software update to 5.9 was a complete disaster but has been somewhat resolved.

Can’t speak for other models.
What I can say is every day I listen the more I’m amazed.
It takes about 60 + hours to warm up or as they say burn in.
Rich ,warm and incredibly dynamic. The wife and I both enjoy.
I do believe from what others have stated pairing components is extremely important. I use very hi power solid state “Class A” from Krell industry . I’m using the RS151 as preamp the two pair with all Audio Art XLR’s
What synergy! Gotta say I’m extremely happy.
Running is Rose os 5.9.05 / Qobuz connect all working flawlessly.
