RS201 Does Not See Internal SSD

RS201E with the latest 4.4 firmware. I just added a new Samsung 2TB 870 Evo, but the 201 does not see it at all. It is definitely hooked up correctly and fitted using the screws. If I try to format via the onscreen menu, it says “SSD not available, please check the SSD”

I have rebooted it, tried again, but it will not see it. Any ideas? Thanks.

After 3 reboots, it finally sees the disk and has formatted it, but I can’t connect to it from my Mac to transfer files across the network.

I tried to set up SMB user and password but it says update of SMB setting failed each time.

Edit: Finally got that to work and it gives me a shared folder with hardly any space on it. I’m missing 2TB of space and the shared folder is called “public/8,0”

Not sure what I have done wrong, your instructions are very vague and do not work. Can anyone help please, I’m very close to sending this back.
