Half of the benefit of a powered subwoofer to your system is the bass it puts out. But, as I understand, the other half is that it reduces the load on your amplifier, allowing it to drive main speakers more easily, resulting in higher fidelity mids and highs. To get this benefit, your system needs a high pass filter, so amplifier no longer sends low frequency (high power) signal to main speakers. Is this correct?
It seems like this would be a big deal for 50 Wpc RS201E (maybe not a big deal for the more powerful amps). I see that many Rose owners use a subwoofer or two. Are you all getting the high pass filter to mains benefit? If so, how do you make that happen? If not, is there a reason you don’t really care about the “benefit” I have on my mind?
