RS250 as a roon core server?

I’m asking myself if the RS250 is powerful enough to run a roon core server on it. Is it planned to enhance the roon experience with a roon core implementation into rose os?

That would be a great feature when server and music is on one device.

Thanks

Thank you for your suggestion

Hi @ROSELOA,

what did you do with the remark of @rikibu in the meantime? I guess the usage of Android as OS is the problem, right? I see that only Windows, MacOS or Linux are supported for Roon Core.

Also can you explain how my RS150B with Android v7 can qualify as a Roon Endpoint (a “Remote” in their lingo) while the minimum required OS version for Android is v8?

Endpoint and remote are different things. Remote is what you use to control Roon, it may or may not even have any sound, but it has requirements for screen size, and OS, because Roon can only write the remote software for some limited number of OS’s and devices. Endpoint is what plays music, it can be anything, running any OS (or no OS at all) as long as the manufacturer implements RAAT protocol.

RS150 (or 250 etc.) are endpoints – they can play music Roon core sends to them, They are not remotes, they can’t be used to control the entire Roon system.
