RS250 model without DAC?

Hi, I’ve been trying to narrow down my options for a multi use streamer/transport. The 250 has most of what I’m looking for except CD functionality. I have a very good DAC and DDC, so the hope is something like the 250 minus the built in. I’m also considering the Primare CD15. This device adds the CD functionality, but lacks some of the more appealing features like the front display. Does Hifi Rose make anything like this?

Exactly, this is what I’m looking for too, but it must have SFP for streaming. Otherwise, Lumin P1 has Fibre network.

I’m using the RS250 together with the RSA-780 (you can use also any other USB CDP) and an external DAC. Don’t take care about the internal DAC; without you’ll pay mostly more…
The same is possible with the eversolo devices.
I’m also a Primare fan (2xPRE35 Prisma, i25, DD35,…), but also here you don’t get any model as streamer only (ok, the NP5), which means without any DAC (core model → dac model → prisma model).
Lumin (owned the T2 and U1 mini) is a great brand (rock stable hard- and software), but with a real small (and not so good) display and no direct option to use CDPs with USB

Yeah, I don’t want to give up my my screen or Rosetube. Hopefully, there will be a RS250 successor to compete directly with Lumin P1 mini that has both fiber optic options for ethernet and DAC.

Thank for the replies! My only issue with adding the Hifi Rose CD transport is that it adds to the cost and the 250 is already peaking over the top of my budget. I like the option, though - especially because it plays AND rips. I could always wait a couple months to get the drive. The Primare CD15 has all that, but that 250 screen was something I didn’t know I really wanted until I saw it!

I like Primare (as written above, I’m using a lot products from them), but for me the big difference is:
The CD15 Prisma is a primarily a CDP with a streaming module and the RS250 is a streamer on which you can connect a CD drive (in here, you can not only rip, but you see on the display while playing a CD the cover and some metadata, if the scanner will find them).

In using an external DAC, you’ve with the CD15 Prisma the only option SPDIF until PCM 24/192 and perhaps DoP (it works works with the PRE35 Prisma).
With the RS250, you’ve multiple digital outputs and for example to use an USB DAC and transfer there upto DSD512. Also you’ve the option to install an internal SSD (I’d one included with 8TB), give out your metadata through HDMI to an external display…
Both are Roon ready (I’m using primarily Roon for streaming) and can act as DLNA renderer. Rose is here not in every case gapless, because no OpenHome is integrated (Primare is it). Also Primare has Google Chromecast included.

If you want a cheaper streamer with a display, you can try also the eversolo DMP-A6 (using it here sometimes for multichannel).
But don’t expect, that you’ll see (also with the RS250) much from your hearing place…
→ here you’ve to buy a RS150 or RS130.

The 250 sounds a little closer to what I’m looking for than the CD15. I appreciate your input!
