I have volume fixed on my streamer (eversolo T8) and the Rose RS250 (first gen) is set for fixed output via RCA, but when I connect the two via USB the Rose is setting a volume super low somewhere unaccessible to the UI. This can be confirmed by hooking the RS250 USB up to my computer which does the same thing. I change the volume on my computer and then the Rose holds that setting if I hook the streamer up, but it’s not surviving reboots of the rose. How can we set fixed volume via USB to actually be fixed volume at full output? The Streamer doesnt have volume settings.

I’ve seem similar posts with Aurender so it seems to be a Rose common problem.

If you connect a PC to the RS250 via USB, the PC acts as the source device and the RS250 functions only as a DAC. In this case, volume can be controlled only on the PC or the amplifier.

There is no separate function to ensure that a fixed volume is maintained at full output when using a USB connection.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Restart rose
Use streamer via USB, volume is low
Unplug streamer from USB and plug into MacBook
Turn up volume on MacBook through streamer
Unplug USB from computer and plug in streamer
Streamer now plays at full volume.

Reboot rose and problem comes back.

Never did a volume change on the streamer, yet works if you change the volume via computer and then switch it out without shutting off the rose. There are similar posts on here from other streamers as well, this is a bug in software. Can you fix?

I have forwarded your request to our software team.
We have asked them to add a feature so that the volume remains unchanged even after rebooting the RS250.

However, please note that this behavior may remain as it is in the current state.

Upon internal verification, it appears to be functioning normally as shown below. Please check if there are any other scenarios.

  1. Connect MacBook USB to RS250 INPUT
  2. RS 250 OUTPUT Analog OUTPUT
  3. Set MacBook audio playback volume to 100 > Restart Rose device > MacBook volume remains at 100, and music is output at the original volume level during playback
