RS250a femto clock also active with external USB DAC?

Hey fellows,

I wonder if the femto clock of the RS250a is also active when using an external DAC via USB? In my case it’s the Holo SPRING3 and I’m not sure if there are any benefits to upgrade to the enhanced USB board with Titanis 2.0 circuit.

Can anybody answer this?

We will answer your questions.

  1. RS250a has a built-in 500fs clock. The clock is used if you connect the Holo SPRING3 DAC to RS250a via USB.
  2. It is not recommended to replace the USB module with the USB board with Titanis 2.0 circuit.
    We have not been able to test the other USB modules. Even if you replace it with a USB board with Titanis 2.0 circuit, it may not be compatible. Among the reasons, the pin layout may be different, and since it was manufactured considering compatibility when developing RS250a, there is a high possibility that it will not work when changing to a new module.
