RS451 — screen completely black, backlight dead? (unit is 9 months old

Hi everyone,

My RS451 has suddenly stopped showing anything on its front screen. The unit itself works perfectly — it is only the display that appears dead.

Here is what I have checked so far:

  • Audio plays normally on every input and output.
  • The unit is fully controllable from the Rose Connect app.
  • Brightness is set to maximum, and the video output is set to the internal display, not HDMI.
  • A full power cycle (unplugged from the mains for several minutes) changed nothing.
  • Switching sources changed nothing either.
  • In a completely dark room, shining a torch on the panel at an angle reveals the interface perfectly. The VU meters even react when I touch the screen.

So the panel and the touch layer are both alive. It really looks like the backlight, or its driver circuit, has failed.

A few questions for the community:

  1. Has anyone here seen the same failure on an RS451, or on another Rose model with the same panel?
  2. Is this a known weak point, or does it look like an isolated case?
  3. For those who have gone through a repair: was it the LED strip itself or the driver board, and roughly how long did the repair take?

The unit was bought in France in November 2025, so it is still under warranty and I have already contacted my dealer. I am mostly trying to find out whether this is a recurring issue.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hifi Rose products continue to fail along all the product lines and it appears to start with blank screens and units that don’t turn on. Hifi Rose @moderators you are going to need to address this increasing problem sooner vs later publicly. I suffered one total unit failure and unfortunately I think it is not a matter of if just a matter of when my replacement unit fails just like the first.
