I have my music library on a Synology DS216J and set to SMB 1. I am able to see the NAS from RS520. However, whenever I enter the user ID and password to login to the NAS, I am prompted for wrong login information. I am sure the ID and password are correct as I am connecting it with my Mac using the same credential.
Hello,
Would you double check if the account that you’ve entered is in the list of Synology settings?
Synology settings > Control Panel > User & Group > User
Also, would you check if you can login if you make a new user in Synology?
(SMB2 is supported, so you don’t have to activate SMB1)
Yes, it is on the list. I am connecting it with my Mac Pro, Cary Audio AIOS without problem at all. Only has problem with RS520
Hello,
Have you tried with a new Synology user account?
I tried new account, password reset, basically everything I know. The problem is only with the RS520. My Mac Pro and Cary Audio AIOS have no problem connecting to it and play the music on it. There’s something wrong with RS520
Hello,
- Can you take a screenshot of the error message?
- Can you tell me your ID that you’ve tried? (Not the password)
I got it fixed after I changed the SMB setting to allow SMB2. I think you should somehow let your customers know it’s no longer just SMB1 support
