RS520 pricing? Seeing it on sale at some dealers in US

I went to Music Direct to see some prices and check on some discounts and sales.

Saw the RS520 listed.
Looked at Upscale Audio… its being discounted.

I realize that w MoFi no longer being the distributor, there will be changes in dealers…
Yet other products are still being sold at MSRP…

If I had to guess… I would say that Rose will have some new products coming out in the near future.
But its only a guess. Same for a couple of their other products.

What’s happening in other markets?

@duffer5

Thoughts here?

Upscale rarely discounts and did so on some stock that has been discontinued.
Which makes you think that there’s some yet to be announced products beyond the RA80.

I don’t have any inside information about future HiFi ROSE products. My main hope is simply that the company continues to support its existing products with reliable software, hardware service, parts availability, and responsive after-sale support.

If HiFi ROSE continues introducing new products, I would view that as a positive indication that the company intends to remain active in the market for the long term. That said, based solely on my own observations as a customer, some recent developments have caused me to have concerns about the company’s direction.

In particular, the problems reported by multiple owners following recent software releases, together with recurring owner reports of significant hardware failures on certain products, raise legitimate questions for me about long-term product support and reliability.

I am not suggesting that every HiFi ROSE product is affected, that there is a systemic hardware defect, or that I have any knowledge of the company’s financial condition or future plans. I am simply saying that, as an existing owner, I would like to see greater stability, stronger execution, and clear evidence that current products will continue to be properly supported for many years.

I too don’t have any insights.
Its that some sites are discounting certain Rose products but not others.

We know Rose plans on introducing the RA80 which represents an upgrade in terms of hardware.

I agree that they keep shooting themselves in the foot over software. To be honest, they are not alone and many tend to underestimate the complexity.

The reason for this post was to see if the sales on products was local to US, or if its happening globally.

I love the RS520, warts and all.

If we had to guess about new features or improvements to the RS520, what would you want to see?
I would love to see a headphone amp. Not just a single 1/4" unbalanced port, but also a 4.4mm and an XLR (optional) for balanced output. Also XLR in/out options.

Rose conquered the ESS ‘glare’ that some hear, although R2R ladder DACs are now all the rage.
Adding in an SFP+ port for networking would be nice. Upgrading BT and WiFi away from the dongle.
Not sure if putting in a Phono stage is necessary, since this is an All-in-One.
Changing it to a more modular design so that you can choose options like we see in other gear.

The downside… some of this would increase costs. So there has to be a balance.

what do you mean? They (and also me) have the RS451 and it’s working greatly.

Hi, just to clarify…

Yes there’s the RS451 which is a pre-amp/dac. No amp.
Was talking about an upgrade to the RS520 which is the AIO.

Essentially take what they did w the RS451 and add a dual mono amp to it.
With the RS451 you just need active speakers… or add the RA80s

So as you can see, Rose has the tech… just hasn’t packaged it yet…

Bonte,
I guess you can’t read.
The facts… The RS-520 was listed in the closeout section of Music Direct, while the rest of Rose products were not.

Over on a different site… it was discounted. The only other Rose products discounted were the already discontinued items that were still in stock.

If you bothered to read what I wrote, I asked if anyone in other regions saw similar things.
Clearly you’re in Germany and are too lazy to look at the local pricing.

If the discounts were across some dealers in the US only… then we could assume its related to a dealer shift due to Mofi no longer being the distributor.

So why don’t you go back and listen to your Lyngdorf and sell your remaining Rose gear.

You little, little lump

So you can see the RS520 on sale at some sites.
(Not sure if new or preowned. )

Buy yourself something decent or is life in Chicago too expensive for you? If so, try it with proper handwork, instead of just sitting at a desk, sharpening pencils, and defecating in the office chair.…:v:t2:

Bonte, why are you here?
The RS520 is good. A lot of people’s complaints don’t impact me.
I don’t use the VU meters, I use the clock weather app.
I don’t host music and use streaming services.

I have the RS520 on the lan, use my MB20 for BT thru the toslink so only the remote is on the dongle, however I hardly use it, I use the RoseOne app.

So its all good.

You’re the one who seems to look down on it.

The only real issue is lack of headphone support.
Could use a headphone amp, or go w a dac/amp where I can feed from my laptop or from the RS520.
