Dear all,
I’m still struggling whether to get a RS150B or a RS520. They both look as great! I ‘m wondering if they perform as good when acting as source?! Since they both use the same chip for the dac and supposed they sound similar, isn’ t it? For the 520, it was an integrated and can have wider range of use such as using it as power too…
the power supply on the 150 B is different and that can make a difference in the sound.
in Canada, the RS520 with integrated amp is much cheaper than the RS150B, so it makes it hard to decide which one to go for too.
Hi just my 2 cents worth isn’t the dac chip in the rs150b a AK4499EQ and the chip in the rs520 is a ES9038pro
The dac chip in the rs150b is ES9038pro. The dac chip in rs 150 is AK4499EQ.
It’s not just the DAC chip that makes a device sound, it’s all the hardware as a whole, starting with the power supply, clocks, output stages, internal shields, signal path between boards, etc. In the Rose 150/b these characteristics have been particularly highlighted in the project.
sorry my bad didn’t realise they ha brought oud a newer version of the rs150
