Unfortunately, I must admit that you’re DAMN RIGHT…
Hello I hade to update the firmware on the RS720 and now it works fine with my DAC.
And the sound quality is significantly better with the RS720 USB hub.
I finally got it to activate and installed the new firmware . But now it says NO DAC found .
Maybe my SPF modules are no good ?
We apologize for any inconvenience caused. When connecting to an external DAC via USB using the RSA720, some DACs were not recognized, so we made an update file and delivered the file to users who were experiencing the problem.
We are planning to create another update file by combining DAC models that cannot be connected even after updating.
Until then, please use your external DAC directly connected to RS130.
That’s what I’m doing but I bought rsa720 only to use with DAC. Now I can’t use it . Please consider for weiss 204, but I ordered rd160, so maybe I don’t even need now.
I have 8 TB of HDD music files that are currently connected to RS720 and RS130 via SFP.
Now I just ordered RA160. With RA 160, I will use SFP connection for both RS130 and RA160. I don’t have SFP connection for RS720 anymore. I have to use regular USB connection for RS720.
Do we have any SFP switch that can be used to connect both RA160 and RS720 for RS130 ?
Thanks,
Ming

We are compiling DACs that are not compatible with the RSA720, and will make efforts to make the incompatible DACs compatible.
The RD160 is great. You will know when you experience it.
@Yu3319
We do not have a separate SFP switch that can be used to connect both RD160 and RS720 for RS130.
Thank you. No need concern me too much, I think my problem with RSA720 will be solved with RD160. Overall, I’m very satisfied.
As you know the RS130 has two SFP connections, one for network and one for USB 3.0. For the RD160 DAC (you said RA but you meant RD, right?) you will use the USB SFP to connect that to your RS130. All other SFP enabled devices would connect over a network switch which also has SFP slots. If you have other devices connected to the 720 you can just connect that device over USB to the RS130.
RS130 USB SFP → RD160 SFP
RS130 Network SFP → Network Switch → other SFP connected networked devices
Wow, that is great, I did not know that RS720 can be connected to my network switch. I thought that the second SFP on RS130 was dedicated for internet use only. I currently use the second SFP for my internet switch. Thanks!
@Yu3319 I don’t think I explained it well or your misunderstood. I don’t know if the USB Hub can be connected to your SFP switch, that’s a question for @ROSEHAN. The takeaway is if you buy the new RD160 you can connect that direclty to the 130, your USB drive can connect either to the 130 directly or via USB and the 720. The whole point of the 720 is to galvanicly isolate your USB DAC via fiber, which is what the RD160 enables with it’s SFP port.
