I am a user of the RS130 and RSA720. My DAC (Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE) is not recognized by the RS130 when it is connected to the RSA720 using the SPF port, even though I have switched the RSA720 to SPF mode. However, the DAC is recognized when the RS130 is connected to the RSA720 using the USB port. There are no recognition issues when using my old DAC, the Cambridge DacMagic 200M.
I contacted the support team in April 2024 and received the firmware update. I had already proceeded with the update EXACTLY as written in Excel. Unfortunately, as the support team said, "what is written in the document is that we indicated the version incorrectly. " The firmware file VL671_92_00_42_00_RSA720_20230906.bin was wrongly used. The firmware update was not successful. I followed the instructions in the Excel file and completed Steps 1-13, but Step 14 failed: the firmware version is still displaying the old one. Then, I followed the instruction “If the version is not 92.0.42.0, start the update again from the beginning.” However, the USB stick could NOT be recognized in Step 4. As a result, I CANNOT start the update again.
Then I received the following suggestions:
“If the USB memory is not recognized in step 14, try the method below.
- Enter Device Manager
- Open Universal Serial Bus controllers
- When RSA720 is connected, Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub and 2 Generic USB Hubs appear in the list.
- Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub, right click Generic USB Hub and select Uninstall device
- Disconnect and reconnect RSA720 and connect USB memory.”
I tried the method suggested above, but it still doesn’t work. In Step 4, I tried uninstalling the “Generic USB Hub” and “Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub” separately, as well as both at the same time. However, in all these three cases, when I connect the USB memory stick to the RSA720, it still can’t be recognized. An error message pops up saying “USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.” Note that when the RSA720 is connected to the PC, there is no error message. However, when the USB stick is connected to the RSA720, the error message appears.
I tried to contact the support team repeatedly, but I still have not received a reply. Could you please help resolve the firmware update failure? Thank you very much.
