I am selling this RSA720 (latest firmware).
I have switched to the RD160 and I no longer have use for the RSA720.
If anyone in Europe is interested, I can send it by DHL or Fedex. Paypal payment.
Please contact me in PM
Hello,
Can you tell us the manufacturing date of the RSA720 and the software version number?
You wrote on another thread that you connected it to RS130 using Cisco SFP-10G-LR 10GBASE-LR with Corning OS2 fiber. In this connection, did connecting the DAC to the USB2.0 ports of the RSA720 work?
Thank you,
Hello SPaul,
The RSA 720 is from 2023.08, the firmware is the one that was sent to me by email by Hifi rose a few weeks ago.
And yes, the Cisco SFP+ work perfectly and sound much better than those delivered with RSA720.
Hello,
Very strange! I have RSA720, the same production date, I received by mail and installed firmware VL671_82_00_42_00_RSA720_20230906, I use Cisco SFP-10G-LR 10GBASE-LR modules and I have no connection! If I use the modules delivered by Rose, I have a connection, but to use the DAC connected to the RSA720 I have to choose the USB2.0 output instead of USB3.0 Fiber in the application.
Anyway, Rose’s option to deliver updates on request by email instead of the official page in the download section is extremely strange!
I received a confusing message from Rosehan, regarding this problem, after he sent me the firmware and after 3 weeks of explanations and requests, which says:
“USB 3.0 Fiber can only be connected to DACs that support fiber optic connections. There will be no DACs that support fiber optic connections other than RD160.
In the case of USB 3.0 Fiber, this is a separate setting for connecting RS130 and RD160.”
It’s very strange, but with Hifi Rose I’m not surprised anymore…
I can confirm that the 4 ports of the RSA720 work with Cisco SFP+ modules and my old Bryston DAC. I had a better result in USB2.
I also used the Cisco SFP10-AOC-2m DAC Cable and it’s with this one that I had the best results.
ROSE very often does reply ‘aside’ to the question…
In this case you Ask for connection with fiber to the RS720… and ROSE replies about connection to a DAC (such as their own RD160 of course) !
The whole point of using the RSA720 connected to a DAC IS to galvanically isolate it from the RS130… using FIBER.
It works great with my MSB DAC.
