Settings in OUTPUT Settings for the RS 520

When selecting the internal speaker outputs for my RS520 (front speakers) I also need to select the line outputs to supply an audio signal to an external amplifier for back speakers. This I can do if the line output level is at its lowest setting BUT if I change the output level to 2 volts which is what my amplifier needs, then the internal speakers are automatically unselected. It seems that at anything but the lowest output level, the RS 520’s RCA speaker outputs are automatically turned off. Is this a bug or a feature? Can it be fixed?

When you set the value in Preout level settings, it is normal for Speaker Out to be turned off.

Rosehan,

I was under the impression that one could use both simultaneously i.e., the speaker outputs and the pre-outs. In my case, the internal amplifiers for two front speakers and the pre-outs -connected to a separate amplifier for the two rear speakers.
I believe you are saying that it is not possible to use both at the same time, correct?
If this is so, then why is it possible to activate both outputs (preamp and speaker out) in the In/Out settings at the same time? Because you can indeed activate both at the same time I assumed they should both work.

They do output simultaneously. I’m doing that now.

mfb,

What I have discovered is that if you leave the Line output level at a low setting, both inputs are active but if you increase the Line level to about one volt the speaker outputs automatically shut off.
Strange, but that appears to be the case.
