The Squeezebox Server (now Logitech Media Server) could do this 20 years ago. Rose dropped the ball on this, thinking they could use their kiosk point of service architecture as the basis for media streaming. Just a big mistake on their part that they will have a very difficult time correcting while staying tied to an architecture that apparently was never intended to do what is expected. Too bad. I love the hardware.

Like you, I owned a different server (Olive 4HD) all these years ago and that one shuffled 20000+ songs with no problems.
I understand that you want to give them time, but for me one year+ is not acceptable
