SMB Change setting failed

Hello,

I have installed an SSD drive that is now recognized by the Rose 150B device and has a few CD Rips that were copied to it successfully. Playback is fine from the SSD drive.

I want to access the drive from a mac/pc so I went into:

Home Screen → Settings → System Settings, “Storage Settings” menu.
I added a new Username, PWD and Workgroup name that is the same as my home network

When I tap “OK” I get error: “SMB Change Setting Failed”

…and so I cannot access the SSD outside of the Rose itself. I have rebooted system but no change.

I wish to copy 1TB of Audio files form a NAS storage device to the SSD drive.

thanks

Step 3) You will see “SMB ID/PW Settings”, touch and enter your account.

I did find that SMB turns on IF I use the Username = “rose” and thought we could choose whatever username we wanted? Anything else on SMB fails to turn on.

Thoughts on this?

I can’t get my RS151 to turn on SMB even with the username rose - wondering if there are specific requirements I need to be aware of when entering the username and password?

@mattmclaughlin

Currently, in other products including RS151, SMB is activated normally even if the User name is entered as “rose” when activating SMB.

Please confirm a few things.

  1. Please tell me the version information of your RS151.
    RS151–>Settings–>System info–>System version info
  2. When activating SMB, if the User name is set to a name other than “rose”, will SMB be activated?

Thank you - not sure if the issue was because I transferred my SSD from my RS150 or not. Once I reformatted the drive the activation process worked. Thank you!
