Smb from iMac to rose rs 250

Hi
I have the rose rs250 and have an iMac with a seagate drive attached 4TB - enabled file sharing on iMac and the rose app from iPhone finds network and folders etc but can’t find it on unit itself - so having problems with the rose rs250 finding the network smb attached drive from iMac.
On the unit itself asks for smb://
I type in the address as it states on mobile app and nothing happens.

Have you tried searching network servers automatically ? You don’t have to enter the address manually if RS150 can find your iMac on network.

I believe iMac doesn’t support smb v1
I think this is the problem.
Thanks

I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe you could attach the external hard drive directly to RS250 or install a 2.5 inch hard drive/SSD to RS250.

Yes I think that’s my option.
Thanks.

Some say music sounds better when played from internal drive. I might as well install one in the future.

I would agree 100% - as ssd card has no spinning hard drives. I’m using tidal at the moment, but do have stored music.
I will invest in a SSD card soon.
Thanks for taking time to reply.

You are welcome!
I’ll wait for Black Friday as they usually discount HDD/SSD a lot!

I read that as well and it makes sense. But the Rose won’t allow me to switch SMB on. After i set username, pwd, Workgroup, and click “OK” I get “SMB Failed set”

Did you ever get access to the internal SSD from an outside device?

I could access from my windows PC, I mapped the SSD in RS250 as a network drive.

Through ethernet the transfer speed could only reach up to 30MB/s but at least it worked.
