Song/Signal Delays Using Coax & Optical Cables

@Christian

I think we will need to take more time to review this issue.
First of all, we are not experiencing the same symptoms as you and we’d like to check where this problem is occurring.

Setting the PCM delay time to 3000ms usually solves the issue.
We will make corrections and update once symptoms are confirmed.

Hi Rosehan,

thank you for information, i hope you will find a solution nearbye.
Other user reported same issue here in this case / ticket.
3000ms is set in PCM delay, but nothing changed.

I want to point out, that VU-Meters simulation begins to move
exactly when song begins.
Corresponding audio signal comes that 2-3 seconds later, as desrcribed.
May be the buffering process release that audio signal too late.

The effect also in RoseRadio when select first radio station and when
jumping from station to station.

It seems that RS130 is not sending clock at all times via AES/Coax/Optical outs and it takes time for DAC to sync/re-sync to lock the signal.

I am having same issue on those outputs when playing songs or albums with different bit/sample rate or if playback is paused and then restarted. About 15-20 seconds of silence before audio starts playing.

This is not the case with USB output.

Hello Rosehan,

which is your update info due to this issue ?
Can we get solution in next software update, please ?

@Christian

Currently, we are having difficulty resolving this issue.

We are considering how to improve this internally.

This is an aritifact of the PLL delay implemented by our respective DACs.

On my DAC Holo May DAC I can disable PLL and this problem goes away (at the cost of additional jitter). I don’t think having Rose @ROSEHAN “fix” the PLL for your DAC is possible given the variety of DACs and PLL implementations. After adding a RSA 720 USB Hub I found the sound of my DAC via USB was better, to my surprise and against my “bias” for I2S. Not to mention that with USB you also have access to more bandwidth vs. COAX and SPDIF.
