Song/Signal Delays Using Coax & Optical Cables

If I use an optical or coax cable to connect my RS-130 to my McIntosh MCD12000 SACD/CD Player (onboard DAC), the first 1/4 to 1/2 second of a song is cut off. Is there some sort of delay because the ports need to “wake up”?

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Please answer a few questions.

  1. When playing music on RS130 or RoseConnect app, is 1/4 to 1/2 second of the song track cut off?

  2. Does the same symptom appear even if you adjust RS130–>Settings → Audio Settings → PCM delay time?

  1. Yes. The beginning of the song while using optical or coax connections.

  2. PCM delay time variations have no effect.

@hernamf

This can usually be resolved by adjusting the PCM delay time on your RS130.

What did you set the PCM delay time to in RS130? Although it is set to 500ms by default,
It seems that the problem will be solved if you adjust it to about 1000~1500ms.

I already tried dozens of different delay times and there was no improvement.

This also happens with AES/EBU. I just tried it with a new AudioQuest cable today. I have videos if you would like to see.

Same issue by me, Hifi Rose RS130
Software is acutal.

When new songs begins, after selecting in RoseApp, 1/2sec is missing.

I am sending my RS130 back. Hopefully, they will fix the issue.

What i realize is that VU-Meters begin to move, but song / music came with that 1/2sec lost.

Hello,

Please try 3000 ms with PCM delay time.

I already tried that. No change.

Are your songs set with a ‘fade-in’/‘fade-out’ - on the Hi-Fi Rose device?

Nope. By the way, it doesn’t happen when I use USB.

New Software 4.19.01 installed, due to this delay bug, it’s still the same on my RS130:
VU-Metres begin to move, but nothing to hear abt. 1-2 seconds when song starts.
Using coax connection. PCM Delay value 500/1500/3000 no change.

@Christian

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Please check a few things.

  1. When you play a sound source, does the first 1-2 seconds of the sound cut off before playing?
  2. Is it the same for USB connection instead of coax connection?
  3. Please tell us the DAC model name you are using.
  1. Yes, playing sound source, the first 1-2 seconds are cut off. VU-Meters begin to move with no cut off.
  2. Unfortunately, my USB Port to Primare SPA25 doesn’t work at all.
  3. So far, i have no extra DAC. RS130 ist connected via COAX to Primare SPA25.

@Christian

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Please check a few additional things.

  1. Does the same symptom appear after factory resetting your Rose device?
    Rose device–>Settings–>System settings–>Factory reset
  2. Does this problem occur when playing any music source?
    For example, does this symptom only occur when playing DSD ISO files?
    Where does the problem appear in Rosetube, Qobuz, Tidal, Apple Music, SSD, external hard drive storage, etc.?
  1. Yes after factory reset, the sympton appear, again.
  2. This is playing on Qobuz, which i prefer mostly for me.
    And here, always when you start a new song after tipping on the “Play” (>) button.
    When playing full album, it appears only at the first song.

@Christian

I would like to apologize again.

  1. We need to further check the issue where the beginning of the sound source is cut off when using the current Coax connection.
  2. When playing the entire track on an album, is there a phenomenon in which the sound source is cut off when moving to song 2 after finishing song 1?

Good moring Rosehan,

1. Thanks a lot for staying with me/us :
2. When song 1 is finished from an album, by song 2,3,4 etc. the phenomen is not coming up.
    (Gapless)
    When after song 2 you're moving manually to another artist/song/album then song 1 is cut off,
    again.
3. Filling Playlist : Song by song is cut off when jumping over artists/albums and song row is not
                                following albums in that order.
