Spotify Lossless update

Well, to be fair, EverSolo did an even worse thing with one of the original DMP boxes, and had it pretend to be an already certified Zidoo model while they were working out the official certification for DMP itself. And Anthem still keeps advertising their AVRs as “Roon Rerady coming soon” even though they admitted that it isn’t happening. But it’s still a bad look for Rose.

Indeed. As soon as it turns out that something can not be hacked quickly and cheaply, they say that it’s too difficult and won’t happen…

Not a dumb question but nay a shallow one. Spotify offers quite the vast library of not just music but podcasts and more. I’ve also been waiting for them to go lossless n now that it’s arrived I myself like others would like to use this feature on top of my Tidal service to stream. Options and variety are best are they not? Rhetorical
Brb time to flip my record:)

I’m still upset i had to drop $125 on a new metal bodied remote to replace the plastic defective one that came with mine!

Just saw this in my FB feed :

"Finally Here! Spotify Connect Lossless is available on Eversolo V1.5.60! Experience true high-fidelity with 24-bit/44.1kHz streaming.!

Supported: DMP Series, T8, Play Series. Update now and hear the difference!

*OTA update roll out in batches" … Facebook is teasing me… anybody from Europe interested in my 2m old RS451 ?

@ovanoudenhove

We fully understand why this situation may feel frustrating, especially considering that the RS451 is a relatively recent product and positioned as a high-end device.
Your comparison to other industries and expectations around long-term support is completely understandable.

The decision to develop the RW800 as an external module was not taken lightly.
Unfortunately, due to technical and licensing constraints related to third-party services, it was not feasible to enable these features through a simple firmware update on existing hardware.
Developing an external module was determined to be the most reliable and future-proof solution without compromising performance or stability.

Regarding pricing or potential support options for existing customers, your feedback has been clearly noted.
While we are unable to confirm any specific policy such as free distribution at this time, we will make sure that your comments are shared internally with the relevant teams for consideration.

Hi, any news on the availability of the RW800?

arrivo sul mercato è previsto per giugno /luglio…il costo credo si aggiri intorno ai 200 euro

@Arpan61 @SidMuff

The RW800 will begin production in April and is scheduled to be released in May.
The price has not been determined yet.

When we first launched HiFi ROSE products, we never stated that we would support TIDAL Connect or Spotify Connect.

Later, due to requests from many users, we added support for Spotify. During the process of trying to support TIDAL Connect, we encountered technical difficulties and were unfortunately unable to implement it.

As a result, we developed the RW800 module, which is designed to support TIDAL Connect as well as other additional functions.

We understand your opinion, but unfortunately it may be difficult for us to reflect your suggestion.

However, we are making efforts to set the price as reasonably as possible.

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this as a happy but conflicted RS130 owner. I love the machine, and as someone who has been in the Spotify ecosystem since the start, it’s been my dream transport.

However, I’m struggling with the recent news about the RW800 module. When we buy into a brand like HiFi ROSE—whether we own the flagship RS130 or any other model—we do it because we believe in the promise of a premium, future-proof experience.

When the “Ultimate” transport requires a paid hardware fix for a standard feature like TIDAL Connect, it makes me worried about the future for all of us in this community. If the flagship promise is broken, what does that mean for the rest of the lineup?

It’s not about the money; it’s about the principle of standing behind your marketing. I believe providing the RW800 for free to RS130 owners isn’t just a gift—it’s HiFi ROSE showing all of us, no matter which Rose we own, that they are a company that keeps their word.

I love my streamer, but I want to be able to trust the brand again.

It’s like with cars. The latest trend is that you order a car and it has all the features. But if you want to own those features, you have to pay a subscription. Look at VW in Germany with their heated seats.

As Klaus Schwab said in his book about the “Great Reset” (which is currently being fully implemented with wars all over the world)!

“You will own nothing and be happy.”

I have a Tesla which I purchased five years ago.
It updates OTA every other week.
That is the model.
Rose should follow it.

Just like your five-year-old Tesla continues to receive new features, HiFi Rose supports its “legacy” models (like the RS201 or RS150) with the same operating system as newer models, ensuring that the interface and compatibilities remain current.

Grammophone,

You are correct that I receive updates to ensure that the interface and compatibilities remain current.

However, in addition I have received a plethora of updates of new features which offer capabilities which did not exist at the time I purchased my car. I have even received a replacement CPU in my car without charge. The previous one had nothing wrong it just did not have the capabilities to run the latest self driving software.

Lossless software anyone?

It seems to me you’re drawing a fascinating parallel between the technological evolution of a Tesla (with its OTA updates and FSD hardware swap) and the world of high-end Hi-Fi. In both cases, the hardware becomes a “container” that evolves over time.
Since you appreciate this “automotive-style” longevity, are you using the RAAT (Roon Ready) protocol or do you prefer the native Rose Connect app to keep the signal path as direct as possible?

Grammophone,

I run three audio systems.
One is RS 130 → RD160 ->MiniDSP ->Coda 8 → Popori Electrostatic-> Lorica Subwoofer

Two is Bacch → Mac Mini → Babyface Pro+ >Roon-> [same speakers and amplifiers]

Three is RS 150 → Open Baffle three way self built with 18" woofer, 12" mid range and Beyma TPL-150 tweeter-> Ripol subs.

Each is different in its own way. I can’t really say which is better. I like them all.

My appreciation of automobile-style is just an exemplar of what I think any high end manufacturer should do for its customers. I believe a high end manufacturer in today’s world owes an obligation to its customers to keep their customers’ purchases as current and upgradeable as possible so that the initial higher purchase price gives the customer long lasting value and freedom from obsolescence as long as they can.
It’s the opposite of the “shiny new object” syndrome.

Sorry for such a long explanation.

Did you make your own ripol subs?

And what got you into the Bacch system?
With the Popori, I can probably guess …
