Standby or Power Off?

Hi!
Do you power off your Rose during night or do you keep it in standby all the time?

I usually do a Power Off

I’ve always had my RS520 turned off since day one. First, I turned it off in the remote control app, and then the Rose was plugged into a power strip with an on/off switch. My Rose always turned off completely overnight, as if it were unplugged from the wall.

How many times have I posted this, and I’ve always added that I wasn’t affected by many of the problems posted here. My Rose RS520 worked great. :muscle:t2: :clap:t2: :+1:t2:

I got a great device from HiFi Rose (of course, through a dealer in my country).

@Gorsti

We recommend that you completely power off your Rose device if you are not going to use it for a long period of time, for example, when you are at work or sleeping.

I leave it in standby and the clock, date and weather is displayed. This is a useful feature through the day. It would be good to follow your advice and have a timer function built in to allow power off overnight whilst I am asleep, could it be considered?

Hello Gorsti
You should turn it off. The power consumption is high in standby

So are you all saying that it needs to be disconnected from power source? Or is it not enough to simply press the power button on the front of the device?

I have a RS 250. Just want to be clear.

Thanks Rob

No, I will try to explain, when I put my RS130 in standby mode is there the a way to power it off , as mine is working I need to go from Stand by to ON to be able too power it off via the left button om my player, if I push on that button (more than three seconds) in. standby mode the unit will reboot

May I know what is the power consumption of RS130 in standby mode if you know? I couldn’t find it in the RS130 manual.

In addition, I am having RD160 and RA180 in my system and both of them don’t have power off function. They can’t be turned off completely unless their power cords are removed. In other words, they are always going to standby mode when turning them off.

Under such circumstances, what’s the point of preventing only just one equipment from going to standby, which I couldn’t figure out why.

Also, if standby mode is not recommended for as short as over-night, why not simply designing the device without the standby feature from the beginning at all?

I’m just curious if all Rose devices have the same option of standby or turn off using Rose App.

I see both options for my RS250.

On the RS130 you can turn it off or into standby with the iPad app

Yes! But if it is in standby mode you need to turn it on before you can power it off, or is there a way to go from standby mode to directly turn it off, If I push the physical power button in standby mode my unit reboot

Hi @ROSEHAN,
I have my RS130 on standby all the time. Please explain why your recommendation is to power off overnight, and will I damage, or reduce its lifespan if I carry on using standby mode.
Many thanks

What is the consumed power (in watts) when the RS130 is in standby?

@Bustahip
The reason I recommend turning off the Rose device completely when not in use is because it consumes power even in standby mode.
And it is a good idea to turn off any device and let it rest when not in use.

@joyofmvid

The power consumption of HiFi Rose RS130 is as follows:

Power consumption during normal operation: approx. 18W
Power consumption in standby mode: approx. 1W

Thanks @rosehan,
Could you inform how to turn off the power of the RD160 and RA180 completely ?

Many thanks for the update ROSEHAN, much appreciated.

It is generally recommended equipment that contains OCXO clocks are powered permanently in order to keep the clock at a precise temperature. All my other equipment containing OCXO clocks recommend that they are powered all the time.
If I power down the RS130 overnight will it not affect the performance when turned on until the clock reaches temperature, also why does your advice not apply to the RD160 also containing OCXO clock I have in my system.
I look forward to your response
Best regards

@Bustahip

I say again that I do not recommend leaving any device on for a long time when not in use.
There will be no problem if you keep the RS130 powered on.

OLED protection of RD160, we have made it so that if you don’t touch the screen of the RD160 for up to 3 minutes, it will slowly turn off or enter Sound wave mode.

In the case of OLED, if you leave it on the same screen for a long time, the previous screen may remain even if you change to a different screen.

@TomT

In the case of RA180, there is no standby mode. It is a system that turns on and off when you press the power button.

In the case of RD160, there is no way to completely turn off the power.
If you are not using it for a long time, you can just unplug the power cable.

Thank you for your response ROSEHAN,much appreciated
