Tall Boy vs. Floor Standing Speakers

What’s the difference between those two kinds of loudspeakers that can be chosen as an option for the analog speaker output?

I recognized that the RS520 delivers much more output power when set to Floor Standing Speakers. However, does this also has influence on the sounding? My first impression was that it is somewhat - let’s say - more aggressive. However, this just might be due to the higher power level.

Unfortunately, this has not been mentioned within the User’s Manual.

Well, my reasoning would be that ‘tall boy’ is some kind of translation mishap and they mean ‘slim tower’ or something. Technically it could mean that some of the very lows are being cut off or dynamically manipulated in the amp for ‘tall boy’ setting and ‘floor standing’ probably mean full range with no filtering/DSP. Just my guess

  1. If you look at the picture below, it is a graph for the volume curve in the Volume Table Setting.

  2. Bookshelf, Tallboy, Floorstanding. Default Volume is the speaker type.
The reason why we set the setting as the name of the speaker type is that it is appropriate to set it according to the type of speaker you are using, so we set it like this.

Thank you
