The New Rose Connect Update Is Another Huge Failure

The long awaited and badly needed update to Rose Connect still does not work. The IP of my 150 has to be input manually and when it does see the machine it asks if I want to change to that IP. If I say yes it promptly loses the connection and forgets the IP and if I press cancel it’s back to square one.

Surely aftera customer has paid thousands of dollars and invested enormous amounts of time, Rose can provide a basic functionality that all competitive products and engineers seem to be able to provide, no problem.

I’m a patient man and love the RS when it works, but this is absolutely ridiculous already

@HJK, are you wireless or wired?

Wireless . A list of ip addresses sometimes comes up none of which is correct and I cannot input the right one

Okay. I’m wired. If it means anything, I don’t see this problem.

wireless. didn’t have to do anything other than install the update. no, that’s not quite accurate. after the update, i restarted/rebooted one more time for shits and giggles.

@HJK

There was a recent Rose OS update. Please uninstall and reinstall the RoseConnect app. Also, please make sure your Rose device is updated to the latest version. Currently the latest version is 4.15.

The RoseConnect update still does not find the unit but it does accept manual input of the IP which is an improvement.

this is completely lame. we shouldn’t be jumping thru hoops to play music. you are failing your customers.

Well, after uninstalling and installing and a few obscure ancient incantations, it’s working!
Let’s hope it stays that way because when it works it’s a great machine.
