This morning, my RD160, configured for I2S input, woke up from sleep mode with DSD input.
Why?
When the RD160 wakes up from standby mode, the input status that appears (such as DSD) can depend on the initial handshake between the RD160 and the connected source device via I²S. In some cases, the unit may briefly display “DSD input” during this handshake even if no DSD signal is actually being played. Once the connection is fully established, the correct format should be displayed and playback should function normally.
This behavior does not affect sound quality or playback stability. However, we will review this with our engineering team to see if the display indication can be refined in a future firmware update.
This is the first time this symptom has appeared with my RD160. And I couldn’t change the source on the device because the RD160 was frozen.
I had to turn the RD160 off and on again to get it working again.
For reference, mine had a similar thing when I turned on the RD160 and RS130 yesterday. My SFP connection between them was off and one of the other connections was on. Restarted both and changed the settings to SFP and all was fine.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
If this issue occurs again, please let me know.
I will forward this issue to the software team just in case.
