Could you please advise if there is any plan to play tidal with Dolby Atmos album as the Tidal app which automatically switches it to stereo mode? With more and more albums being released in Dolby Atmos format, rose hifi loses its competitiveness. The simplest way is to support Tidal connect instead of insistently keeping users using Rose connect for Tidal.
Atmos is a multichannel format. Rose is a Stereo (2.0) Player.
What effort would you get from Atmos then?
Atmos needs a 5.x.2 or up to 7.x.4 Speaker Setup, like you find on AVR. And a Video Player capable to transport it to the AVR (mostly over HDMI). The AVR does the decoding (DAC).
And a Downmix to Stereo has nothing to do with Atmos. You can play then the same album direct in Stereo.
Rose will not loose anything about this - a Stereo Device will never support Atmos.
And just to mention - no Audiophile player has it.
Here’s the list of supported devices:
Seems you are not understanding my question.
I am not asking you to support Atmos.
Please look at the question more clearly before you fight back with the customer!
It is what your company lose!
You should know and understand Tidal app can automatically switch those Atmos albums to the stereo mode for the device is a stereo player. And this statement I have clearly mentioned.
Just an example, please try to play the new “Wet Leg” album by Rose connect. Then, please answer again the question!
" How does Dolby Atmos Music on TIDAL work for devices that are not Dolby Atmos enabled?
When a device and/or connected playback system is not Dolby Atmos enabled, the TIDAL app will recognize this and the stereo version of the track will be played. The user will be notified with an in-app notification."
I am totally disappointed!
Also, please refer to another thread
Hello,
This issue requires collaboration with TIDAL. We are in contact with TIDAL, so we will try to resolve it in a positive way.
Hi Roseloa,
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.
It sounds nice you have a plan and progress on it.
Looking forward to the updates.
BR
Andy
Just to mention - I do not work for Rose nor I’m related to the company.
I’m a user like most others.
But as you could read - Rose will try to get a fix for this.
You’re right. All ROSE company members have the Moderator mark. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank to @aswiss for his active work.
Lack of playing Dolby Atmos tracks in stereo mode is starting to be a big problem, as more and more albums on Tidal are in Dolby Atmos…
I hope it will be solved soon
If the device is not Atmos compliant - Tidal will play standard Stereo track (check on the official Tidal Website).
So - the Rose RS Players are non-Atmos devices - so the best way is, to just turn off Atmos on Tidal for Rose. There are no Atmos Stereo Tracks afaik -
Atmos is for Bitstreaming Devices and need to have an Atmos Decoder.
Thanks, but how to do this?
I don’t have Tidal anymore - I switched over to Qobuz 2 years ago.
But when you check google with this question, you find out that lot of others are complaining too with the outage of sound on an non-atmos device - so its not Rose to blame for this - its Tidal.
I thight that there is a Master Flag somewhere in your account, where you could turn it globally on or off - but maybe that’s not how Tidal works.
Hi Gianni,
Don’t waste the time asking/responding the aswiss reply.
He doesn’t know what is the actual problem.
It is not a Tidal problem. It must be Rose supporting Tidal issue.
The Offical Rose staff reply in the above has already said they are communicating to Tidal how to support it in Rose products.
Let’s wait for Rose official staff to support it.
so its not Rose to blame for this - its Tidal.
. ← that’s why I said ‘rose hifi loses its competitiveness.’, and lucky, the words do not come from Rose hifi staff.
It’s strange that such an expensive device can’t do things that a regular phone can do. The manufacturer did not inform about this in any available materials.
I find that unacceptable, especially if Rose isn’t going to do anything about it. They should inform about limited functionality.
I hope Rose will resolve problem soon?
you should write to Rose Support. Sometimes its overseen here.
And just to mention - Do you know what Atmos does? you need Bitstream (at least passthrough like from TV + ARC, and send it untouched to a Atmos capable device like a AV Receiver.
I have some Atmos Disk, but honestly it has nothing to do with the Tidal Atmos.
same problem with atmos I have a node 2 which converts without problem! it’s frustrating at this price I just got my rs520 the sound is very good but it lacks a lot of improvement compared to blusound
Any news about PROBLEM with plaing Dolby Atmos files on Tidal (in stereo mode)? ROSELOA?
Any plans to add Dolby Decoder chip in future hifirose products?
And keep same price
