Then I have to wonder: why is it that good sound—along with indications that one isn’t merely trying to foist off or sell completely useless junk—doesn’t seem to apply to Hi-Fi, and specifically not to Rose Audio devices?

The discussion starts around Rose and the kit you plug into it.
However there’s the Troll Boris who goes off and wants to be the loudest , baddest voice in the room.
(You can go see how he and Bonte tag teamed on a guy named ‘bicycle’ earlier.)

The beef I have w Boris is that he likes to pretend he knows things he doesn’t.
Many here post their gripes w Rose’s kit. Hey, lets face it. There are issues and its a question of the sum, warts and all. If it doesn’t work for you… sell the gear and move on.

I’d be happy to focus on the gear…

You can enjoy anything you want. You can’t spread outright lies (and yes, fiber, SFPs, external clocks, etc. etc. improving your sound are just that, lies) and expect that not to be challenged. If you want to wallow in the mud with like-minded “audiophiles” who believe in anything as long as it is expensive, there is no shortage of forums where people with intellectually indefensible beliefs can roam free.

There is nothing to object to there.

No, why?
You Americans might need to get off your high horses. If I want to read something, I have to actually read it myself—I can’t just get someone else to read it aloud to me. Or to put it another way: how about showing a little initiative?
You always just want the bite-sized pieces served up to you on a silver platter, without doing any research yourself.

Let me ask you something—and I don’t mean this in a nasty way:
Do you ever actually read anything (about Hi-Fi, “snake oil,” etc.), or do you just listen to audio and watch videos?
