USB DAC disconnect issue

Hi Allan, maybe my grounding box (kojo Crystal E) is not the powerful one, I don’t really feel a big noticeable improvement here, maybe a little bit… my experience is using SFP with optical fiber instead of RJ45 for LAN connection really offers a noticeable improvement, and this is what RS130 design for :slight_smile:

@ROSEHAN does engineer aware of this? and any comments or recommendation from the engineer team to resolve the USB DAC disconnect issue? Many thanks! :slight_smile:

@deckard

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We are aware of the issue. It appears to be a software issue, not a hardware issue.
Recently, a customer who had the same problem as you purchased the same DAC, tested it, and distributed the software, and the problem was resolved.
It appears that an update will be distributed soon and the issue will be resolved.

Thank you

Many Thanks @ROSEHAN this is the great news!

@deckard @Allan

Please tell us the DAC model name you are using.
In the case of RS130, it appears to be a software problem rather than a different problem.
We are currently resolving this issue.

Thank you

I see. The Kojo Crystal E is what I’m thinking actually! Yes the fiber connection has made great improvement over the lan connection

@ROSEHAN My dac works well with RS130. That is the problem of a friend of mine who use Accuphase DC950. Failed to get connected

@ROSEHAN my DAC is Weiss DAC501MK2

Still an issue. No connection to a Mola Mola Tambaqui dac. About to upgrade an MSB, I may regret quite a lot soon.

@deckard

Currently, we are trying to obtain the Weiss DAC501MK2 DAC internally to improve compatibility with the RS130, as users using the Weiss DAC501MK2 DAC are experiencing many compatibility issues with the RS130.

We will review other DACs after checking to see if they are in stock at our Hi-Fi Rose dealer, so that there will be no compatibility issues with any DAC as soon as possible.

@EGR64

Were the Mola Mola Tambaqui dac and Accuphase DC950 DAC you are using recognized in versions prior to 5.7?

I updated it as New out of the box before plugging anything in. So I done know if the older versions would have worked.

@EGR64

Please give me some additional answers.

  1. Does your Rose device not recognize the DAC even if you use a different USB cable?
  2. Is your Rose device rear not recognized when connected to a different USB port?
  3. If you connect a USB external hard drive to a USB port that does not recognize the DAC, will the Rose device recognize the USB external hard drive?
  1. Three different types of cables didn’t work,

  2. I don’t have that dac anymore, sadly. So no way to test that,

  3. The Rose is scanning a portable hard drive as I’m typing this reply.

Hi @ROSEHAN , thanks for following this up… I am using RS720 along with RS130 to connect the DAC501MK2… the most recent firmware update of RS130 causes the RS130 with RS720 no long connect to the DAC501MK2 successfully and I have to switch back by not using RS720… Hope the compatibility issue get resolve very soon… thanks alot.

I indeed start thinking about switching alternatives…
