USB Dac DSD issues

Hi,

i just received my RS150 and eager to use it, however i’m using an external R2R DAC via USB (Musician Pegasus).
While high res files work fine, DSD files are not played in DSD Native mode even though that option is selected in the USB Dac output screen.

Any suggestions ?

Also, is there a way to power down USB ports when the unit is powered down, this actually shuts down or wakes up DACs that detect USB power is available/unavailable.

There’s also an issue where external USB dac is not being detected when it’s powered after the RS150.

HI,
Due to the lack of DAC information, it is difficult to determine why Native DSD is not working right now. If you tell us your Rose ID, we will connect remotely and check DAC information and improve it to support Native DSD.

About the power of USB ports, it is not possible to control power on/off of USB ports.

About the detection issue of USB DAC, it is recommended to turn on the USB DAC after RS150 is fully turned on (after the menu appears).

Why are you shut down DAC? At least DACs are anticipated as devices recommend to be up & running constantly.
My complete electronic is on all the time except when the tube amplifier is in the system.

hi,

i’ve the same problem with an external DAC, DSD files are downgraded to pcm

just bought a RS250,

my ext. DAC is a dCS bartok,

on the rs250 settings, under DSD , DOP mode is missing either in the app or the

setting on the rs250 itself,

i guess this is why all the dsd files downgrade to pcm

can somebody help?

According to the definition DSD over PCM = DOP
So DOP mode is not missing.

Hi Kevin,
I’m also having the same issue with DOP, I’m using a Lampizator that has a combo 386 amenero usb module. It simply doesn’t upsample from flac files to dsd format. Furthermore, the streamer change my dsd files to pcm when native dsd is selected.
I’m using rs 150b.
Please let me know how I resolve this?

Hi Solwo_36,
RS150 does not provide the ability to change PCM to DSD.
Even if ‘Native DSD’ is selected, if the DSD file is changed to PCM and played, it is the case that the DAC does not provide an interface to connect to ‘Native DSD’.
If you play after selecting ‘DSD over PCM’ Mode, you can transfer the DSD to the USB DAC without changing it.
Try DOD Mode(DSD over PCM).

Just so I’m reading your response correctly, are you saying rs150b does not upsample pcm to dsd (I.e. 44.1khz to dsd126 or higher)?
I’m curious if this upsampling feature will be implemented in the future?
