USB/SFP port in only?

I wonder if I can connect the usb/fiber sfp port of my RS130 to the usb/fiber sfp input on my dac.

If so, which SFP works on the RS130 side?

Yes it works but must use SFP+ modules. Which DAC do you want to connect ?

MSB Discrete dac SFP+?

???
There is no SFP input in the MSB discrete. If you want to connect it to the RS130, you should use USB input.

To use fiber connection to it, which will improve the SQ, you must add the RSA720 in between.

Or do you mean you want to bypass MSB’s own external ProUSB USB to fiber converter and connect your RS130 directly to the ProISL module ?

This is the SFP module used by MSB.

It would be worth a try !!!

There’s just as much a Sfp input on the Discrete as there is a usb input. Since each are add-on/after-market modules you must purchase (which I have done). So, that beyond said, yes, I mean to do exactly that. But it’s not the MSB module I need. Because it already has one when you purchase the MSB module. It’s the compatible HiFi Rose I need.

Did you buy only the ProISL without the ProUSB ?

Try with this SFP module on the ROSE side, I bought them for 8 euros each ! But if you have the ProUSB, just remove the SFP module from it and insert it into your RS130…

No I have both. Was hoping to not need the middle piece if I could find the right sfp. Tried three. None worked. Hifi Rose says they’re coming out with a usb sfp soon. SO I’ll wait.

Did you try a pair of SFP+ modules ?

Between my RS130 and my RSA720, SFP modules don’t work, but SFP+ do work !

I don’t know if ProISL supports SFP+, but it is worth trying a pair of SFP+ (10Gb/s) modules …

I had one on order. But cancelled it. However, with your recommendation, I’ll try it.
