Using coax out and preamp out for subwoofer on RS520

Hi,

Can I use the digital coax out to drive active speakers and at the same time the analog preamp out to drive a subwoofer on the RS520?

I’ve already determined in another thread that I cannot use the USB audio out or AES/EBU to do that.

But I am hoping I can do it with coax out and preamp out at the same time…kindly let me know.

I continued my research and just found out it is not possible either to use coax out and preamp out at the same time :frowning:

In order to solve my problem to connect an external subwoofer, is it possible to use BOTH USB audio outputs at the same time?

  • The first USB out on the Rose 520 would go to my external DAC.
  • The second USB out on the Rose 520 would go to USB audio in of the miniDSP and then to my subwoofer.

Or 2nd option: using USB audio out AND coax out simultaneously

  • The USB output on the Rose 520 would go to my external DAC.
  • The coax out on the Rose 520 would go to digital input of miniDSP flex and then to my subwoofer.

Would either of these options be possible?
