Vertical Line on Display After Several Hours of Use

Hello @ROSEHAN,

I’m experiencing an issue with my RD160 that only appears after extended use. After several hours of operation, a vertical line appears in the middle of the display, as shown in the attached photo. The line is not present at startup but gradually appears over time. Restarting the device temporarily resolves the issue, but after a while, it comes back. Other than that, the RD160 functions perfectly. Do you have any idea what might be causing this? Could it be a software or hardware issue? Is there a known fix for it? I’d really appreciate any insights or advice you can share. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Philipp

@Philsisch

You seem to have a software issue since the problem goes away when you reboot the RD160.
We will also check if the problem occurs when you use the RD160 for a long time like you.

I have one question for you.
Do you only experience this symptom when you set the RD160 to sound wave and use it?

Hello @ROSEHAN,

Thank You for Your reply!

Yes, I only notice the vertical line when the RD160 is set to show the sound wave visualizer and music has been playing continuously for several hours without interruption. Once the line has appeared, it remains visible across all display modes, as shown in the second photo I attached – not only in the sound wave visualizer.

Just to clarify: Should I try switching the “Screen Saver” setting to “Turn off the screen” instead of showing the visualizer, to see if the problem still occurs? I’m happy to run this test and report back.

Best regards,
Philipp

@Philsisch

Yes, thank you.
Please reply after further verification.

We will also continue to investigate the issue.

Hello @ROSEHAN,

I’ve now completed a test over almost 24 hours with the Sound Wave visualizer disabled (screen saver set to “Turn off the screen”), and I can confirm that the issue does not occur in this case.

This clearly indicates that the problem is directly related to the Sound Wave display mode during long-term continuous playback.

Please let me know if you need any further input or if I can support your investigation in any other way.

Best regards,
Philipp
