The RS13O has variable volume output control, is it actually controlling output volume, or does it direct the connected DAC to control volume?
Thank you.

Go into Settings → I/O Settings → USB DAC.
If you see “Software Volume Control,” you can turn it Off (to force full-scale output and let your DAC handle the volume).
If your DAC supports UAC2/HID commands, leaving it off means the volume knob on the RS130 will directly command your DAC’s hardware gain instead.
So in short: the RS130’s volume knob either directs your DAC to adjust its own gain (when DAC-side control is supported) or applies a digital attenuator upstream (when it isn’t).
