If all you want to do is rip CDs to play through your RS151, why wouldn’t you just pick up a DVD burner for about $30 USD plug it in to the USB port and use that?
That solution has worked great for me.

How far away do you live from a MicroCenter?
They can help you out. But the drives will be a little bit more expensive than $30.00
Again I ask the Question: What CD ripper cost $30.
I have 5 ways of listening to CDs. 3 of them can rip cds.
But none of them can do as well as the Rose RSA780E
It strikes me that you have had this problem for several months. Have you tried an inexpensive USB CD-ROM drive in its place? You can get one at your local computer store or Best Buy or Amazon.
I have one very similar to this LG GP65NB78 8X USB 2.0 Super Multi Ultra Slim Portable DVD Writer Drive +/-RW External Drive with M-DISC Support - Black.
There are many different similar DVD writers to choose from at this price point.
I got mine at MicroCenter and it works fine.
I purchased mine a couple of years ago and quoted the price from memory, but the prices haven’t gone up much from what I have seen.

The ripping software resides in the Rose, not the disc spinner.
Rosehan suggested trying a different CD-ROM 3 weeks ago. It is an inexpensive way to troubleshoot your problem.
Yes that is true. But the way the ripper get to read the data is the spining of the cd
To prove that I tried to play the CD and it plays a few notes then stopes spining and there is no music playing. Then it spin again and low and behold the music play a few more notes. That same process of stopping and start spining is why it would take over an hour to burn one CD.
Let me asure that I have 5 diderent machines that will play CD and three computers that play Cd’s

OK. So if you connect your RSA-780 to your computer you can play and rip CDs normally. Is that correct? In the past you had no problem ripping CDs from your 780 to the 151, correct? If so have you tried deleting the ripper software on the 151 and then reinstalling it?
I am just trying to figure out where your problem is, the 780 or the 151. Because in the video I posted above, they are ripping to an RS-150 using a run of the mill Toshiba Model TS-L633 CD-ROM drive, not an expensive device like the 780.

Here’s a totally ordinary drive that I use to fuel this discussion. I rip with XLD, and this drive is more than enough for that.

Of course, older Blu-rays can feature fantastic soundtracks, often in 5.1 surround or LPCM stereo. And yes, anyone can use a computer to extract these audio tracks with tools like MakeMKV. Nobody is denying that. Even when a Blu-ray menu displays individual music tracks, the data on the disc itself is still stored inside encoded movie containers and not as ready-to-use audio files.
But you are completely missing the difference between theoretical ideas and actual practice. Most people buy these systems for convenience. They want to plug them in and have everything work at the push of a button. What you are suggesting requires technical computer skills that most users simply do not have or care to deal with.
To actually use Blu-ray audio on a Rose device, you have to spend hours sitting at a PC, download specialized software, extract the audio, downmix it from multichannel to stereo, and cut it into individual tracks. The Rose software itself cannot do anything with encoded movie audio directly from a connected disc drive.
Even if you install an internal SSD into the slot underneath the Rose, you cannot just copy those extracted files onto it from a USB drive directly on the device. You have to use a computer, connect the Rose via SMB network sharing, and manually transfer the fully converted FLAC files over the network.
My point was strictly about the practical reality of ripping standard audio CDs. That is exactly what the ripping function on these devices is designed for in daily use. And for a standard CD, a solid 30-dollar external drive connected to a PC or Mac is perfectly fine. There is no need to turn a simple CD ripping discussion into a theoretical lecture about Blu-ray audio formats that completely ignores how these devices are actually used, just to have the last word.“

Ripping CDs, and DVDs has been going on for a very long time.
There are a couple of Blu-Ray drives that ignore DRM and are used.
Not that expensive… can usually get them on e-Bay or something.
Some DVD players will work but you have to mod the firmware.
The point is that you can rip on your PC and then xfer the files to your Rose.
Can Rose play the videos locally? Where the video is output via the HDMI port?
I think it should be possible because I can play YouTube content thru RoseTube.
