What is the file format of an internal SSD Rose RS250

When you format an internal SSD in the RS250 what file structure is created, is it the same as formatting and structure as on microsoft windows

@DAVEH53

I don’t know if it’s formatted in the exact same format as Windows, but it’s formatted as NTFS.
Since it is based on Android, it may be slightly different.

Thank you

Apologies for slow response thanks for the information my Windows 11 PC also uses NFTS so should be okay.

I have mapped my Rose SSD as a drive visible on my PC. I can now drag and drop albums in to it from the PC. I can only assume that it handles files exactly the same way as if it was a PC drive.

Thanks for the information, did you format the drive in your Rose? Also is the mapping easy to do?
I was thinking of formatting the drive via my PC loading the music and then installing the SSD in my Rose 250 as I thought it may be easier hence my question reference formats.

First of all enable SMB on the RS250.
The easiest way is to follow this
I gave the Rose SSD the letter Z to keep it away from the other drives on my PC.
You can then rip files on your PC, get all the meta-tagging correct and drag them across - it’s surprisingly fast.

Thanks that’s great information. I will get a new SSD ordered now I understand what to do.

It’s not “surprisingly fast”, but as expected very slow.
Today I’de put a 8TB SSD (yes it seems to work) into my RS250 and startet uploading files.
Transfer rate is about 5 to 12 MB/s (folder with smaller files) and now I’ll wait nearly 3 hours for transfering 82 GB datas.
Because I’ve over 6 TB music files, I’ll then put out the SSD and transfer the other files locally to the SSD.
For updating one or two files the network transfer it’s ok, but not for an initial setup.

Thanks for the information have just ordered my SSD so probably best to populate before installing. Can you please let me know if you have problems with music files locally transferred.
