Which USB adapter for RW-800 stand alone?

I pre-ordered a RW-800 Rose Air Lite as stand alone streamer. The power supply will be an USB 5V 1,5A adapter. But there are adapters and adapters, with low and with high ripple and noise. Does that make difference in the Hi-Res Specifications? Which adapters are recommended and wich not? Does it help to place a ripple and noise filter between the adapter and the RW-800?

The differences in ripple and noise levels between typical USB power adapters do not have a significant impact on the Hi-Res audio specifications or overall sound quality of the RW800.

For standalone use, please use a stable USB power adapter that meets the required power specifications (5V / 1.5A). There is generally no need to use a special audiophile-grade power adapter or add a separate ripple/noise filter between the power adapter and the RW800.

As long as the power adapter provides stable and sufficient power, the RW800 should operate normally.

Meanwhile I did some research. The Apple 5V 20W USB C adapter should be the best normal “audiophile” USB power adapter with low ripple and noise (between 15 - 35 mV). I have one. Beware of fake Apple adapters!

My next question: the RW-800 Rose Air Lite has an USB C cennector and the Apple USB C adapter also. Are there inside the RW-800 two resistors of 22k each from the CC1 pin and CC2 pin to the Vbus, so the adapter “knows” that it has to deliver 5V and max 1,5A ?

For standalone use, the RW800 is designed to operate with a standard USB power supply that provides 5V / 1.5A.

Regarding your specific question about whether 5.1kΩ resistors are connected from both CC1 and CC2 to GND inside the RW800, this relates to the detailed internal circuit design of the product, so we are unable to confirm the specific circuit configuration through customer support.

However, you do not need to add any external resistors or additional circuitry when using the RW800. Please use a standard USB power adapter that meets the required 5V / 1.5A power specification.
