Wifi and Bluetooth issues

Hi all,

I got my RS250 since a few days and I am extremely pleased with the sound. I previously had a Bluesound Node 2021 and it’s definitely an improvement in terms of sound.

Unfortunately I am facing some instability with the wifi, which never happened with the Node nor with my Smart TV which are both sitting on the same shelf than where the RS250 is now. The wifi router is about 7 meters away without any walls in between (they’re at opposite ends of my living room).

Are there any specific tips to get the wifi more stable ? What I’m experiencing is that Tidal streams are often interrupted, the iOS app can’t connect to the rs250, etc… sometimes it’s ok for a few hours and sometimes it’s just unusable.

I am facing another issue with Bluetooth but it might be because I don’t know how to use it. I paired my Samsung smart TV with the RS250, I am seeing the RS250 in the available speaker list on the TV, I can connect to it but after I do so, no sound is coming out of my speakers. What else should I do to get the TV sound played by the RS250 ?

I am also unable to pair my iPhone with the RS250, I don’t see it in my iOS Bluetooth devices list and the RS250 doesn’t discover my iPhone when I do a Bluetooth search.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Hervé

  1. When the Wi-Fi is unstable, press the reset button on the back of the Wi-Fi router to initialize the Wi-Fi router and try again.

  2. The phenomenon of disconnection from the device in the iOS RoseConnect app was recently updated. Please check if it is iOS 4.05.44.

  3. RS250 does not have ARC port. So, you can listen to it by inputting it through RS250 as the TV optical output.

  4. Delete the connected list from iPhone or RS250 and try connecting again. You need to search for devices on RS250 and iPhone at the same time.

Please tell me if you have more questions.

Yes I was trying to use my TV Bluetooth audio output instead of a toslink cable, is it possible ?

I checked the iOS app version and it’s the latest.

Rebooting my router is not a solution : 1/ the problem continues to happen even after the reboot, it is intermittent but it still happens and 2/ there are other devices on the same shelf which work perfectly via wifi (for example my 4k TV and my Bluesound Node).

Regarding Bluetooth, can you confirm if it’s possible to send audio via Bluetooth to the RS250 ?

Thanks,
Hervé

I got the audio Bluetooth working from my
iPhone.

From my Samsung Smart TV, there is progress but the connection seems unstable : the sound is choppy, there are small interruptions all the time. To make it (kind of) work, I unpaired it and paired it again and on the 3rd attempt I noticed the TV was listed in gold color instead of white in the list of paired devices. When I had paired it the first time it was white while the other devices (remote and iPhone) were listed in gold color.

I will try to unpair and pair again to see if this works better.

Hope this helps,
Hervé
