WiFi antenna location in RS250A

Does anyone know where the RS250A’s WiFi antenna is and how it is oriented? I have a rack of WiFi-enabled AV devices, and only the RS250A seems to have trouble staying connected.

I have an Orbi mesh network, and I worked around the problem by relocating one of my satellites, but that’s not ideal. If I knew where the antenna is, I could possibly figure out a better layout.

JerrySNB,

It’s contained inside a USB dongle which you should have. Orientation isn’t really possible as it just goes one way, that is it is hinged to be in a vertical orientation…

I believe the RS520 comes with the dongle that has the long antenna while the RS250A gets the smaller dongle w no big antenna.

@JerrySNB ,

The issue is going to be that your dongle isn’t getting a good enough signal. Your ‘work around’ of moving the mesh access point is the only solution unless you want to reposition the RS250A elsewhere in your rack.

If your dongle doesn’t have the long antenna… (I believe the dongle is the smaller one…) You may want to contact HiFi Rose USA or MOFI about getting a replacement w the one that has the antenna.

250 has WiFi built-in, but our great engineer(again) is confidently spouting nonsense.

520 does. But 250A does not.

Well Boris I stand corrected.
It didn’t have the wifi hump.

Too bad you can’t ever admit when you make a mistake.
BTW, Audioholics just did a review of RBH’s 55-ir you should watch it.

Seems there are speakers built to not go below 65Hz. (Actually 70Hz)

That’s because I stick to talking about things I know something about. You should try it one day. Would even have a nice side-effect of keeping you quiet 99.5% of the time.

Of course there are. There are ones that don’t go below 120Hz, too. Doesn’t mean that they are a good choice unless you have some way of properly integrating them with a subwoofer. Or, as in your case, don’t even have a subwoofer in the first place.

At least RBH’s are only double the fair price, rather than 5x like Mons.

No Boris… You don’t.

Learn to know what you don’t know.

Heh. No, I don’t know how you manage to tie your shoes in the morning (or, really, who doers it for you). Neither do I care.

To answer my own question, the RS250A has neither an external antenna nor a dongle. It has an antenna inside that is directly connected to the mainboard. You can’t adjust it at all. You can only move the entire unit; or, as I did, move the Orbi satellite.
