Wifi Bluetooth disconnect intermittently

For a couple of weeks my WiFi & Bluetooth disconnect intermittently.
There are no connections visible in the RS520 WiFi settings.
When i change the USB slot it gets activated again, sometimes automatically, sometimes by On/Off the WiFi but can also remain inactive. Just changing the USB slot helps sometimes.
Most successful seems to be the middle USB slot while the left and right ones do not become active. Again this is only sometimes not always.

How best to proceed to find out why that is???

What I have noticed is what you describe. I changed slots and even ethernet cable. WiFi was without interruptions but cable seems to be better sound, according to our colleagues on this forum.
When connections are not visible, they do not exist on that moment.
Then I switched the router off and on again. Now after a week of observing I dare to say that there are no more interruptions. I keep my fingers crossed though.

Paulus RS520

Hi thanks,
i always power off the RS520 after use and make a fresh start.
I do not listen music over WiFi or cable, only operate with Rose Connect from Android device.
I also copy my music via WiFi from computer to RS520 SSD. I notice very slow speed and even interruptions while copying files when this problems appear.

Strange is that WiFi and Bluetooth both lose connection simultanously. It looks as if the USB port or the antenna is loosing connection or breaks.

Yesterday i powered off /rebooted the wifi router and today i check to see what happens with those connections. Perhaps it is also because it gets to warm inside the RS520 !?

@Ben

If this problem occurs only with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, it is likely that there is a problem with the dongle.

Please contact the distributor in the country where you purchased the RS520, tell them about your symptoms, request a new dongle, and connect the new dongle to use it.

Before requesting a new dongle, does the same symptom occur when you factory reset your RS520?

Hello ROSEHAN

i look into it again and follow the steps you suggested.

Also a simple solution would be to buy just any other Bluethooth/WiFi dongle which is compatible. Here some valid recommendations from ROSE will be helpful.

For future cases when there are no more such dongles at the local distributor.

Hello ROSEHAN

i just today understood that all ROSE audio players are only compatible with a single model (NEXT 1265 WBTA) wifi/bluetooth dongle which is only available in South Korea or perhaps from a national Rose distributor.

There are no other dongle brands models working which is strange and outright dangerous because without it the ROSE audio players are not usable.

The RS520 which i have is non operable at the moment because there is no answer from the distributor regarding delivery of a new wifi/bluetooth dongle. Also i can not even buy any other brand which is available here in Europe nor are there any recommendations from Rose for compatible alternatives.

What to do now and in the future if that happens again?
What happens if the dongle breaks again and they are not produced anymore???
Perhaps a more generic driver model can be implemented in the rose audio devices firmware?

@Ben

In which country did you purchase RS520?
I will contact the distributor in your country and ask them to forward the dongle to you.

Hello ROSEHAN

i bought it with shop Project Akustik in Germany.
I opend a support ticket with them on the 3. February.
I asked for a reply on the 12. February.
The told me that they wait for the distributor.
The people with Project Akustik are very responsive with support… but they wait it seems.

In the meantime i understood that the Rose Hifi audio players only work with one specific Wifi/Bluetooth device and i am worried what will happen to my RS520 Wifi/Bluetooth connections if those are not available anymore!?

I can give you my personal adress in personal message.
