Hello,

After a new firmware a windows appears for Update and if we answer “NO” after each awake RS130 the window appears again and again :

  1. could you keep the answer in memory so the system don’t ask again?
    si non,
  2. Could you to send us a patch to by-pass this windows, applicable to any firmware version ?

Thanks for your attention, you may have perhaps explanations for this.

:wink:

It would indeed be excellent to have this possibility

At the time, I requested the software team to prevent the pop-up prompt to update to the latest version when using an older version of the RS130.

If you have the update file for the version you want, please let me know the model name and version of your Rose device by emailing me at eunseong96@citech.kr

Hello ROSEHAN,

I remember that, thanks a lot…

In fact, our great preference, we users, would be that once we have answered “NO” to the question asked in the update proposal window should be that this answer would be saved by Hifi Rose and that on all subsequent awakenings this question would no longer be asked for the firmware already installed.

Once notified, the user will always have the means to upgrade manually via RS130’s system menu.

Could you ask this proposal to the development team to be able to by-pass this windows, applicable to any firmware version N to N+1 ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, I have already forwarded this matter to our software team.
I will let you know as soon as I receive their response.

I’ve received your email, thank for your answer.

But could you But ask the technical team to ensure that the “NO” choice in this window remains valid as long as the RS130 remains in standby?

In my case my RS130 remains in standby and I don’t need to turn it off electrically.

I think just a litlle internal memory could be used to stock the Update windows’s answer.
When the RS130 awake it can read this memory to know if it should show the window or not.
Obviously if the RS130 is turned off electrically the memory is erased.

With this new precision, can you ask to the technical team please?

Thank you very much for that.

Indeed, it would be good to no longer systematically have this update request.

(RS130)

Thanks

@domrol

I have also forwarded your feedback to the software team, but they responded that the current status will be maintained.
They explained that the reason is to ensure users are always using the latest version.

But it’s not logical that, after waking up from standby mode, once we’ve answered, we end up with the same question again. It’s not user-friendly.

Several of us have reverted from version 5.9.09 to 5.9.07, due to an issue of audio quality, and we are really annoyed by the appearance of this window even though we have answered his question once and for all.

Tell them that, if this decision isn’t taken into account, it goes against the customers’ wishes and that it’s not in accordance with your charter of following their opinions, logical and reasonable.

Can you emphasize this point?

@domrol

I will forward your request to the software team once again, and I will let you know as soon as I receive a response from them.

Yes please! :slightly_smiling_face:

@ROSEHAN

The ideal would be a patch that applies to any firmware without necessarily integrating it into a new firmware.
It could be easily applied to any update.

To date, I have invested nearly €10k in an RS130 and an RD160 and this window is tarnishing my daily use of my equipment.

Please help us…

@domrol

If you continue using an older firmware version without updating, compatibility issues may occur — both with RoseConnect and potentially with our server API as well.
Therefore, we have been informed that the current policy is to maintain the existing system, as we recommend all users to use the latest firmware version for optimal compatibility.

When necessary, we can always change the firmware version.

BUT simply ask the technical teams to memorize the response we give to this window so that it doesn’t appear every time we wake up from sleep mode.

Can you ask them?

Rosehan has said twice now that they won’t implement your request because they want everyone to update to the latest system. What seems like a reasonable request to us is not reasonable to Rose. They want to pummel you into submission with the update prompt until you update the system.

It is maddening that such a beautifully made and decent sounding machine is programmed by people who are in over their heads. An update comes out that improves one thing but screws up something that had previously been working.

I just ordered a Roon Nucleus One today and look forward to seeing if my user experience will be improved. I don’t think it can get much worse. Soon I will only use my RS130 for the clock and weather.

It’s really a shame not to have this possibility of By passing this window

I’m taking out my Mac Mini and Roon and see if I can do without the Rose Hifi app
